Training to the extreme =D

Went training this morning, since training just resumed after Chinese New Year, there weren't many players attending training this morning....

Did some jogging, footwork shadows and some wall drill. Chun seang and the rest of the players arrived back from their intense Jogging session around the MPPJ Stadium led by Coach Rahman. What makes today's training special was the presence of Coach Misbun....

Coach Misbun asked Jeeva and I to witness a match between Ramdan and a state player. It was very fascinating and then after that, Coach Misbun asked Jeeva, a Malay guy and I to play singles with a certain duration, 8-point game....

We got "lectured" by Coach Misbun during the training session because some of us were fooling around.....mostly the advanced players kena....

After that, we had a short break and then we resumed training and then we had shuttle drill given by Coach Rahman. We did 8 sets(considered little for intensive training) and then rest a while and walked around...

After that, Coach Misbun asked the 3 of us to do shadow and shuttle drills. We all worked hard for it and we did 6 sets of it...

At last, we did some sprinting and the usual physical exercise. Chat with the other players and had a change....Chat with my long lost coach Abang Hazwan...and had mandarin orange brought by Coach Doni !!!! Coach Misbun had some jokes with us....

It may sound normal but it was meaningful by the advice and training given by Coach Misbun...i really apprieciate it very much =)

Thank You Coach

Match of the day

Zhi Wei vs Keiron (singles) [words in red are

Score: 21-9, 20-22, 21-19

The match was pretty easy paced in the first game. Keiron made many mistakes during the first game and the game ended up very fast...

The second game was more intensive when Keiron managed to put in some effort to play the game and i was starting to make mistakes too. It was a neck to neck battle and i couldn't last and lost the 2nd game 20-22

The third game was not intensive, but a scary game for me. I was leading at first and i got my trail easily. I was leading at 19-15 and then Keiron put in some attacking effort and he managed to pull the score till 19-19. I started to get panic, but i try to tell myself that i will not give up and show some fighting spirit, and at last...the game ended 21-19...

Sweat at last "Phew"

Good Game Keiron ! Hope we can play again =D

I will work harder and prepare for year 2009....

Consistency

Went for training today, woke up at 6:00am to fetch sis to some waiting place with her friends...Drove straight to Nusa and started training at 7:30am in the morning...

Had doubles sparring sessions under Coach Rahman's command...In one of the rallies, dived and scratched my elbow...BLEEDING....and i peeled the skin immediately without knowing the existence of the pain getting scratched...

Had shuttle drills and then control.....Was fun playing control as Coach Ramdan plays tricks around and decepting all of us XD

Had sprinting, Hind Jump, Push ups, Sit Ups and Waist exercise....

Didn't want to go home that early, decided to have some more games...played singles against Jia Sheng...and then another player at Nusa...

Talked to Coach Rahman and asked for advice and suggestions....Coach gave me many tips which are informative, and he mentioned about Consistency...I finally get the meaning of it....was kinda off form today, but managed to pull back streaks today...phew...still not very bad afterall....

Training session ended at 12:30 pm and i drove home after that...

MSSD

There's no excitement for this coming MSSD, i don't feel the explosive or excitement eventhough it's just 2 days away....

The players are not ready at all....We tried to give our best and make you all improve or be better, but it seems like it didn't turn out to be like this...I can give you all advices and i hope you all can follow it..

To Gareth:
You have many things to work on, mainly footwork and your endurance....Stamina is a must, but due to the lack of time, i teach you a simpler way, which is using mentality...It's gonna be tough, but you gotta stay on in the game and keep the momentum going...If you can fulfill some of the tips i give you, you can reach far in MSSD...As for footwork, practice it more often this few days....

To Beng Soon and Chong Wei:
Basically both of you are OK at the moment...But i will have to emphasis more on Chong Wei this time...you're doing too many mistakes, do not aim for any fancy or very outstanding shots, just try to keep the shuttle in the court, if there's chance to attack/kill, then do it, do not give chance to your opponent to let them kill you....If opponent returns a half court, just keep attacking all the way, do not clear/lob so much, you will put yourself into risk....As for Beng Soon, you will be the attacking player, put in all you got....

To Soon Len:
Basically you can make it there, due to lack of training, your strokes are now inconsistent...but the main key of the game is your mentality, how you all play psychologically with your opponent, make them frustrated etc....and also remember to keep your mentality strong, be determined and not to let mistakes frustrate yourself, if you can overcome that, you can make it =)

To Gabrina:
You are playing both singles and doubles(if not mistaken)...For singles, follow the advice i gave to your brother...For doubles, communication with your partner is very important and learn to set up, so you can kill your opponent, learn spinning tight net shots...it helps...and also your mentality, be strong and hold on, You can make it there =)

To Wern Lin:
Basically Nusa will give you all the tips already, what you normally do during training will help you a lot, but most importantly, believe in yourself and don't give up, fight through obstacles...if you can create history this time, i belanja u SWEET =D

To Elisia:
Be more active, that's all you need, and you are the power player in the team, so you have to set up an attacking game to pierce through your opponent's defence....and don't give up no matter how, put up a good fighting spirit....

To Yi Han:
You are the single player this time(i couldn't give you tips for your doubles as i have not seen your partner before)...From the previous match, here are some things you have to be cautious about...

1) Your footwork is fine, but your legs are very "jelly-like"....It has to be firm always...
2) Your inconsistency, if you can't make it for that shot, just put in the shot, keep the ball in the court and don't aim for net please... =_="
3) Your Smashes...they are basically good...if there's a chance to attack, finish up your opponent....

OK...that's all i can tell you all guys and girls, the rest is all up to you all to make it happen !

ALL THE BEST !

Excitements

Went badminton with Fei Siang after college...

Met Joanne, Su Qi and friends, played doubles....

That's not the whole point yet, the main storyline is where i had singles with Darma...

Lost to Darma with the score: 6-21, 16-21(2nd game i was given handicap 10 points by coach Andrew)

I knew the distance between Darma and I....

His smashes were awesome, and his net set up, way fantastic...i just couldn't follow up the pace of his nettings...his smashes can be retrieved mostly...my set up was bad, he had good strategy...

I couldn't catch up with his recovery speed either, and i needed to jump and dive around to retrieve his smashes....fantastic player of him...

Now i know where are my weaknesses and i will "fill" them up....

Nice game Darma =)

Had Smashing drills, Shadow Drills and Shuttle drills...did the Physical at last...Tired to death =X

Lied on the ground and smiled =)

4 hours =)

Freaked me out due to the Disgusting scenes...couldn't bare with the blood...oh gosh...

Haha...

I was quarantined by my mum and not allowed to go training...

Things are going downhill nowadays for me....

It's just hard to accept sometimes, where i usually go training twice a week...

I need improvement, i told them my resolutions yet they didn't seem to agree much with me...

How can we sit down and discuss or negotiate when we can't even sit down and talk and disagree with everything i do....

I don't know how to say this...sometimes people may think i'm some nuts where people share the same questions and thoughts..

"Why you always go training? Not boring?"

"EH, you train so hard for whaT? You won't get anything..."

I just want to tell everyone, training is not boring....It's something that requires commitment and dedication to improve yourself....

If a person has a target, he/she will have the determination to do it....

5th Jan 2009

First day of college was pretty fun...

Started my orientation day at Taylors College PJ, taking up Diploma in Construction Management...

Met many new friends over there and also pretty girls...LMAO

Yet, it cannot replace the picture of her in my mind...

After reading her blog today, she has finally decided to go to University of Melbourne....

I don't know what feelings i have now, it's just like mixed feelings...

I'm happy that she has taken the right choice and step for education where she chose to go over to Melbourne for further studies...

On the other hand, i feel very sad that she will be leaving for Melbourne....

There is also feelings of missing her and not losing her so quickily....

Tears flowing down my cheeks...

I just wish that i can give a memorable moments to you....

Let Fate Decides Whether We can be Together......

Or not?

Shah Alam

Had badminton in Shah Alam today...

Played with Teck Lee, Sai Kit, Soon Ong and Jeremy...

Match of the day:

Zhi Wei vs Teck Lee (singles)

Score: 21-16, 19-21, 21-14

First game was just trying to get my rhythm...Opponent managed to score points as i made many simple mistakes...Lacking of attack in first game...however, at the end of the first game, managed to put in some offensive play and won the set...

Second game was tougher when Teck Lee already got the momentum...Was a neck-to-neck score from the opening...However, Teck Lee managed to make a change in his game pace by adding some Drives...Lost in second set...slacked a lot in the second game by laughing around and not moving quick enough to the shuttle...

Third game is the Decider...Put in some effort into the match...Counter the Drives made by Teck Lee and more smashes during the game...Jump smash was pretty "float" compared to the jump smashes made during training...Teck Lee's eyes were serious but i managed to take down the decider due to the exhaustion in Teck Lee...at last...i managed to secure it =)

To Teck Lee: You improved tremendously, good Job !

To myself: Slacked in 2nd game, should change the habit, attack more and move faster to score points...
